This blog got its name from the rhyme my mother taught me to say when setting the table. When I was a little girl, my mother would have sumptuous dinner parties (she still does) and I loved to help her in any way. Since my duties usually included setting the table, she taught me the rhyme “The knife and the spoon went for a walk, and the fork was left behind” since, you know, forks go on the left.

After much encouragement, and many dinner parties of my own, I decided to start blogging once again. I am an avid home cook and look for recipes that can be recreated without a lot of fuss at home.

Recipes are original unless otherwise stated, currently being whipped up in the tiny country of Luxembourg, where I live with my husband, JD.
